Confidence Interval (VS)

A statistical margin of error attached to every VS score, computed using the Wilson confidence interval method. A VS of 45 with a narrow CI (e.g., ±3) is more reliable than a VS of 48 with a wide CI (±12). The CI narrows as more probes run — 900 probes per Focus gives substantially tighter intervals than a smaller run. Practitioners should weight VS comparisons against CI overlap: if two scores have overlapping confidence intervals, the apparent difference may not be real. CI is displayed alongside VS scores in the portal.
